Rekless11Sports is a blog dedicated to sports, gaming, and games about sports started by a dude addicted to sports, gaming, and games about sports. If you like football (soccer) or basketball or play FIFA or NBA2K, you might like what you find here.

My name is Derek and I’m a sportaholic (Hi Derek). If sobriety coins were handed out for staying clean from sports then 1) I wouldn’t get any, and 2) if I did I would probably throw them into a bin as if I was playing basketball.

I started this blog in 2017 when I was in between jobs after moving to a new city. Blogging was something that I had thought of doing for a long time but never acted on until now.

My passion for sports was inherited from my dad who watches just about any sport but especially football (soccer) and basketball. No surprise then that those are the two sports I’ve followed for most of my life. Over the years I’ve also developed an interest in tennis, Formula 1, rugby, and cricket and more recently I’ve started watching American football and ice hockey. The weird thing is that despite living in Australia for the last 11 years, I haven’t developed any interest whatsoever in Australian Rules football. Sorry, Aussie mates. At least I like cricket right?

As for gaming, it has been a regular part of my life ever since my dad bought us our first family computer in 1997 along with a copy of FIFA 96 for PC. I can still remember playing it with my brother and being blown away by the fact that our local league, the Malaysian M-League, featured in the game. 20 years later, I’m still playing FIFA, as well as many other sports games.

  • series showing how good (or bad) I am at playing those video games
